ClimatePartner's Online Deep Dive into science-based targets explains and clarifies the latest developments from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and its requirements for science-based targets.

By setting science-based targets (SBTs), you make an important contribution to reducing your company's carbon footprint. The targets are based on the aspirations of the Paris Agreement, aiming to limit the global temperature increase to below 2 degrees – preferably 1.5 degrees – above pre-industrial levels.

The SBTi framework has become the de facto standard for setting emissions reduction targets in line with the goals of Paris Agreement. In addition to ensuring companies set sufficiently ambitious targets, the SBT standard has a high level of credibility and creates comparability between participating companies.

This Deep Dive is for people who…
… would like to improve their understanding of what SBTs are and the process of setting them.
... need guidance on setting credible, science-based emissions reduction targets to lead their company to a lower-emissions future.

What will you learn?
  • Fundamentals of SBTs and the requirements for their establishment
  • Discussion of the different approaches to target setting
  • Challenges and solutions for the internal implementation of reduction targets
  • Possibilities of support by ClimatePartner

Participation is free of charge.

Our Deep Dives are targeted to representatives of companies. For this reason, we kindly ask for your understanding that only registrations with a company email address are considered.
